RECIPE FOR CHOCOLATE COCONUT SLICE

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa
  • 1 ½ cups coconut
  • 250g butter or margarine
  • 1 cup of sugar
FROSTING
  • 2 cups icing sugar
  • 2 cups coconut
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa
  • 6-8 tablespoons of hot water

DIRECTION
  • Preheat oven to 180 ° C.
  • Grease a deck (mine is 31 cm x 22cm).
  • Combine flour, cocoa and coconut.
  • Put the butter (or margarine) in a saucepan with the sugar and heat until margarine is melted.
  • Pour the butter over the dry ingredients, mix well, then press the tray.
  • Bake for 15 minutes.Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  • Mix the icing sugar, coconut and cocoa, add warm water a tablespoon at a time until you have a thick paste spreads.
  • Spread over hot slice. When cold, cut into squares (I like to share my tray 8 x 6 square weird?).rating:No need for fancy name it, watch it disappear! My mother used to do this for us all the time as children, it is certainly not for calorie counters, but tastes good!Important to spread the icing on while the base is still hot, otherwise the icing separates from the base when you cut.
