STAKE AND CHIPS WITH GARLIC SAUCE



INGREDIENTS
  • 600g Desiree potatoes, washed, cut into chips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 (150g each) beef sirloin steaks
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1/3 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 80g mixed salad leaves


DIRECTION

  • Preheat oven to 200ºC/180ºC fan-forced.
  • Place potato and half the oil in a large bowl.
  • Season with salt and pepper. Toss to combine.
  • Place, in a single layer, on a baking tray.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden and tender.
  • Drizzle steaks with remaining oil. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Cook steaks for 4 to 5 minutes each side for medium or until cooked to your liking.
  • Transfer to a plate. Cover. Set aside for 5 minutes.
  • Add stock, sauce and garlic to pan.
  • Cook, stirring for 8 minutes or until sauce has thickened.
  • Serve steaks with sauce, chips and salad.
